See e-mail below. I am one of the tennis coaches at CCMS. I have applied for a Pepsi Refresh Grant ($250,000) to build tennis courts for the community. Mrs. Williams said that the land between Cougar Drive and the Clay ballpark is school land, which we could put the tennis courts on. Our hope is to have 6-10 courts to enable the middle and high school teams to have an area to practice instead of driving to Jeff State or Bradford Park. We are also planning to leave some of the courts open for the community to use. The way we get the grant is to be one of the top 2 projects receiving votes in our category. To vote for the projects people will need to go to: www.refresheverything.com/claychalkville . Voting starts Sunday (Aug 1st) and goes through the end of the month.
